Lawn Obsessed — Privacy Policy

What Lawn Obsessed collects, why, and where it goes — in plain English.

Effective date: 2 September 2026

The short version: Lawn Obsessed has no server, needs no account, and doesn't sell or share your data with advertisers. Almost everything you enter — your lawn's details, your journal, your preferences — stays on your device. The only things that ever leave it are your postcode (sent to a weather service for local forecasts) and your purchase information (handled entirely by Apple).

Who this is

Lawn Obsessed is an independent iOS app for Australian lawn care, built by a single developer based in Australia. No company, no ad network, no data broker — a single-developer app, and this policy describes exactly what it does with your information.

Information the app collects

The app doesn't ask you to create an account, sign in, or hand over your name or email. What it does use:

No advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics or tracking libraries, and no precise location — only the postcode you type in.

Where your data is stored

Almost all of the app's data lives in a local database on your device (Apple's SwiftData), protected by the same security as the rest of your iPhone or iPad. It isn't synced to any server we operate, because we don't operate one. If you use iCloud backup, Apple may include this local data in your device backup under Apple's own iCloud terms.

Third parties involved

WillyWeather — your postcode is sent to their API to retrieve a forecast, as a live lookup each time; we don't store a history of requests. See willyweather.com.au/privacy.html.

Apple (App Store / StoreKit) — subscriptions are purchased and managed entirely through Apple. See apple.com/legal/privacy.

Retailer links (Bunnings, and the brands' own stores) — product recommendations link out to a retailer's own search or store page. We don't currently earn any commission on these and we don't take payment from brands to be featured. Once you tap through you're on that retailer's own site, under their privacy policy. If that changes in future — an affiliate arrangement with a retailer — we'll update this policy and show a disclosure next to the affected recommendations.

Data retention & deletion

Because your lawn data lives on your device, deleting the app deletes it — there's no server copy to separately request removal of. An active subscription is cancelled through your Apple ID subscription settings, the same as any other App Store subscription.

Children's privacy

Lawn Obsessed is a general-audience app about lawn care and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant age in your region).

Your choices

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the effective date and, where appropriate, note it in the app's release notes.
