Privacy Policy

What Lawn Obsessed USA collects, why, and where it goes — in plain English.

The short version: Lawn Obsessed USA has no account system and no server of its own, and it doesn't sell or share your personal information. Your lawn details, journal and photos stay on your device. The only things that leave it are your ZIP code's location (to fetch local weather and soil temperature) and, if you tap a product link, the fact that you visited that retailer.

Who we are

Lawn Obsessed USA is an independent iOS app for US lawn care, built by a single developer. No ad network, no data broker.

Information the app uses

• ZIP code — sets your climate zone and is converted on your device to an approximate location for your area. That approximate location is sent to weather services to get your forecast and soil temperature.
• Lawn details you enter — grass type, size, preferences, journal entries, photos, events. Stored only on your device.
• Notifications — if you opt in, reminders are scheduled on your device by iOS. No push server.
• Crash & diagnostic reports — kept on your device (Apple MetricKit). Nothing is sent unless you choose to share it from the app's Settings.

No advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics or tracking libraries, no precise GPS location.

Third parties

• Weather (Open-Meteo) — receives your area's approximate location to return a forecast and soil temperature. No personal information is sent.
• Apple (geocoding) — your ZIP code is turned into an approximate location using Apple's own location services.
• Our website (GitHub Pages) — the app downloads a small list of product picks from it so we can update recommendations without an app update. Nothing about you or your lawn is sent.
• Retailers and affiliate networks — when you tap a product link, you leave the app for that retailer's website (for example Amazon, DoMyOwn, The Andersons). The link may carry an affiliate tag so the retailer knows the visit came from us. From then on you're on their site, under their privacy policy.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because your data stays on your device, you can access, correct or delete it yourself inside the app — or delete the app to remove it entirely. Questions: lawnobsessedsupport@gmail.com.

Data retention & deletion

Deleting the app deletes your lawn data. There's no server copy to request removal of. If you use iCloud Backup, Apple may include app data in your device backup under Apple's terms.

Children

Lawn Obsessed USA is a general-audience app and isn't directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date.
